Orlando, Fla. – The Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Law served as host location for the Florida Bar's Hawkins Commission meeting on January 9, 2012. Dean LeRoy Pernell welcomed attendees –including three Florida Supreme Court Justices – and recognized the Florida Bar's current and future leadership during the meeting.

Eugene Pettis, as Florida Bar President-elect designee, will assume the leadership of the Florida Bar in June 2013. He will be the first African-American to serve as President of the organization.
